Kelly Bishop-Diaz, Ph.D. is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. She received her doctoral degree from the University of North Dakota in 2002, and has been in the mental health field since 1993. She has a wide-range of experience, having worked in psychiatric hospitals, a Veterans Affairs Medical Center, a university-counseling center and in private practice settings.
Dr. Bishop-Diaz provides psychotherapy services to adults, adolescents, and children and also works with couples and families. She specializes in treating various anxiety disorders, including post-traumatic stress disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder. She has a great deal of experience working with patients who have experienced abuse (emotional, physical, and sexual) and other types of trauma such as war/combat trauma, car accidents, etc. She also enjoys helping her patients through life transitions like divorce, loss of a loved one, preparing for marriage, and parenting skills. In addition, she assists patients with improving their ability to communicate assertively with others.
Dr. Bishop-Diaz’s therapy style is primarily interpersonal, cognitive-behavioral, and solution-focused. She works with each patient at his or her own pace and tailors therapy to meet the individual’s unique needs and goals. She is patient and sensitive and understands that beginning therapy can take a great deal of courage.
